Gotta start planning our trip to Argentina. Time to get outta here!

Thank You

Sometimes I think tumblr is the only form of social media that isn’t toxic for my soul. It’s the one place where I am bombarded ONLY by things I love and choose to look at. I don’t have to worry about looking at/reading something that just makes me feel bad about myself and my life. Thank you, tumblr.

We finally finished our kitchen! When we were first shopping for kitchen chairs, I had this idea that I wanted to stain each chair a different color and my wonderful boyfriend indulged me. Unfortunately, there isn’t a good selection of quality wood stain in interesting and fun colors. So, we learned how to create our own wood stain using oil based paints and we were able to make these awesome chairs! I was so excited to see my vision come to life!

In the bottom picture you can see our chairs with our new kitchen table that my dad just built for us.

If you want to learn how to make your own stain you can use this website: http://www.ehow.com/how_2311815_own-wood-stain.html. It was really easy and fun!

Here’s another project I’ve been working on: We broke apart an old ladder, painted it my favorite color, and hung it in our bedroom for extra storage.

My boyfriend and I got a house last summer and it’s been my personal project to make it cool for as little money as possible. We get a lot of inexpensive antique items as well as hand - me - down furniture from friends of our families and friends of friends of our families.

Here’s a picture of a mirror that was given to us. All I did was repaint it a deep purple. It’s great for our hallway and looks nice with the green walls in our living room.

The second picture is a piece that we got at an antique store. I stripped it and repainted it this berry color, again to go with our green living room.

Part of my New Year’s Resolution was to 1. start wearing everything I own and 2. stop spending as much money on clothes. So, today I’m wearing a black dress that got hand - me - downed to me probably 10 years ago under a sweater that I salvaged from my parent’s closet (thanks, Dad!) with my new floral Steve Madden boots and a pocket watch necklace from my boyfriend.
